Xin Chao, ahhhh that’s pronounced ‘sin jow’ for you non-Vietnamese speakers. Which could be interpreted as G’Day in ‘Oztrayun’. Or as we saw on a restaurant billboard the other day – Uustralian – where you could also get Aussie Hot ‘Pice’.At the moment we’re sitting on a beach on the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc in the Gulf of Thailand. It’s one of those picture perfect islands with long sandy beaches, sleepy fishing villages, crystal clear waters [most days] and hardly touched by the mega resorts – although that’s about to change as they are already buying up the land and pushing the locals out.Since we last spoke we finally extracted ourselves from Sihanoukville in Cambodia, leaving behind the hostess and beer pong bars with authentic Khmer names such as The Sandgroper, Pacinos, The Britannia and Darby O’Gills, but not before one last sampling of the local delicacies such as Coco Cola Ribs and Chicken ‘Condom’ Blue. Hmmmmm. We jumped on the ‘G’Day Mate’ minibus to …

Hello readers,
Are you looking for a quick and easy way to create worksheets that look professionally designed? If you’ve ever taken the time to manually create a crossword puzzle about a topic for your students, then chances are you’ve only done it once. The time spent on creating such things could probably be better spent elsewhere. However, if you…

Hey everyone! So we have arrived in india… aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Have already done our first day and have seen loads of temples and very strange things. Our flight was delayed for a while, and despite being seated at opposite sides of the plane for the 8 hour journey, we got here and had an airport pickup organised, without that we would have been so drastically screwed!! The drive from the airport to the hotel was interesting to say the least… from “tuk tuks”, constant beeping and literally deadly traffic somehow transforming 3 lanes of traffic into 5, we somehow managed to avoid knocking down the family of crazy monkeys (literal monkeys) running in front of the car on a main mental busy road at about 7.30 in the morning!!! Of course the cows get more patience from the drivers and do whatever they like! We are stared at wherever we go, even to the extent of locals asking to have pictures taken with us… im convinced it is because of me almost glowing and …

Hello AllThank you for stopping by. We are currently preparing for our rally. The Nifty Fifties ride again. We have under two weeks now to get our car through its MOT, spruce it up and decorate it. So no panic there then! I have just set up my sponsorship page on justgiving.com and hope to raise some much needed funds for Home-Start Stafford and Dsitrict. So what is the plan? Is there a plan? Well of course, what good Virgoan does anything without lists and more lists. The plan is to set off from Stafford on Saturday 13th September at about 7am. Then over to France by ferry and after meeting the other teams and the organisers, a B&B ready for the offical start on Sunday 14th. If you come back regularly, I hope to keep the blog up to date with the events during and after the rally. The rally ands on 20th September (my 51st birthday - what an end to the year!) and we hope to be able to travel slowly back to the UK, camping en route. This rally is made even more special …
